This seemed like it was trying too hard or not hard enough。 Kind of a breezy read， but then attempted to get into racial issues and part mystery but also a love story。 Did not do much for me。

I enjoyed this book， it had plenty of twists and turns to the storyline， the characters were great， I didn’t manage to work out the killer until later on in the book， so it kept me guessing！

Thoroughly intriguing and enjoyableLots of suspense， family secrets and tragedy， and murder afoot！ The author weaves an involving tale spanning generations of a particular family including the misperceptions of the townsfolk in the coastal Oregon town bearing their family name。 I didn’t see the reveal coming。。。had not figured out who the killer/s was/were。 I love when that happens。 This is book one of a trilogy。 I’m headed off to start book two now！
